Celebrating Shakespeare's 

450th birthday

Today (23 April) marks William Shakespeare's 450th birthday. 

The famous playwright was thought to have been born on 23 April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. 

Some of his most well known plays include Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and A Midsummer's Night Dream. These are now studied in schools and universities across the world. 

To celebrate 450 years since his birth, a host of fun events are taking place.
